About the Show

The Martha Bassett Show is recorded live at the historic Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC. This weekly one-hour music program blends the fabric of the national roots and Americana scene with the rich artistry, history, and flair of North Carolina’s Piedmont region. Helmed by one of the state’s most distinguished musicians, the live show features national artists, fresh local faces, and the music of Martha Bassett. Each show is a collaboration in song and conversation between Martha, her band, and the guests.

About the Theater

Photo

The Reeves Theater was originally opened as a grand Art Deco movie theater in 1941. It was fully operational until 1973, and later reopened as the Elk Twin until 1994. By then, the Reeves interior and façade were in desperate need of repair. Purchased by a group of concerned citizens, the Reeves was reroofed and saved as a significant downtown structure. In 2013, Debbie Carson and Chris Groner purchased the Reeves, and with their partner and project superintendent Erik Dahlager, have overseen its renovation into one of North Carolina’s premier music venues. The Reeves Theater Cafe is also one of downtown Elkin’s favorite dining spots!
